DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR CRUISING DOWNTOWN CAR SHOW – SEPTEMBER 4, 2021

MANCHESTER, NH – Details are falling into place for the Manchester Rotary Club’s 20th Anniversary Cruising Downtown car show which will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The popular Labor Day weekend event will feature a wide variety of classic, antique, hot rod, and specialty cars, trucks, and motorcycles. There will be a $5 suggested donation for adult attendees. As all expenses will be underwritten by generous donors, 100% of the proceeds will be distributed to local programs that benefit children and youth. This year’s major corporate sponsor is Guild Mortgage, and the media sponsor is 96.5 The Mill, which will be broadcasting live from the event. To learn about sponsorship opportunities, contact Jeanine Tousignant at jeanine@jeanineandcompany.com or Brad Fournier at ronstoyshop@aol.com.  The event website is www.cruisingdowntownmanchester.com.

The central downtown Manchester business district along and adjacent to Elm Street will be open for vehicle displays and spectators only—from Bridge Street (north) to Granite Street (south). In addition, vehicles will be displayed in Veterans Memorial Park on Elm Street and, for the first time, will also line the southern (eastbound) span of the Bridge Street Bridge. The entire show site is easily walkable, and free parking will be available nearby. Visitors can take advantage of downtown Manchester’s restaurants and shops throughout the day.

Cruising Downtown typically attracts around 1,000 vehicles and 30,000 spectators. Registration for antique and custom vehicles will take place at the staging area at Brady Sullivan Tower (1750 Elm Street) beginning at 8:00 a.m. The per vehicle fee will be $25. During the day, a selection of outstanding entries will be signaled out for recognition in several categories, with the awards presented in Veterans Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m. A second stage will be set up  in front of the Brady Sullivan Plaza (1000 Elm Street), with both settings featuring musical entertainment. This year three popular local bands will be playing—Speed Trap, Permanent Vacation, and Stuck in Time.

The Manchester Mounted Patrol police horses will make an appearance at the event, and between noon and 1:00 p.m. the Manchester Fire Department will deploy a ladder truck near Veterans Memorial Park, and will give a “Jaws of Life” demonstration. Vendors, including those selling food, accessories, and collectibles will be set up in that general vicinity. To help ensure the safety of attendees, the Manchester Rotary Club encourages adherence to Covid-19 guidance issued by the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

The motto of the Manchester Rotary Club is “Service Above Self.”  Founded in 1918 the club serves the local community through volunteerism, grants, and scholarships. As part of a global network of Rotary clubs, it strives to promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

The Manchester Rotary Club is pleased to announce the 20th Anniversary Cruising Downtown classic car show which will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The popular Labor Day weekend event has traditionally featured a wide variety of classic, antique, hot rod, and specialty cars, trucks, and motorcycles. With approximately 1,000 unique vehicles on display, Cruising Downtown is expected to attract over 30,000 people, young and old, for a fun, family-friendly day. The event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, but the vehicle display area will be doubled this year to allow for safe distancing. There will be a $5 suggested donation for adult attendees. Donated funds will be distributed to local youth programs that benefit children.

Cruising Downtown will feature live entertainment, food and other vendors, and the presentation of awards in several categories. Ample parking will be available near the event site, and visitors can take advantage of Downtown Manchester’s dining and shopping amenities. To help ensure the safety of attendees, the organizers will encourage adherence to Covid-19 guidance issued by the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Pre-registration is open online until August 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. for $20 per vehicle. Registrations will then be closed until the day of the event, when vehicles can be registered at the staging area at 1750 Elm Street for $25 each.
